I decided in advance just what I would work on during today’s Time Out Hour.
My courtyard garden has been suffering & dying from lack of attention. I headed out there as my hour began.
(This Time Out Hour is about walking away from technology in all forms.)
I cleared all the dead plants, found a few that were still alive & weeded all the opposition greens out. I only grow plants that can be eaten or that produce things that can be eaten. Just occasionally I plant some flowers but not very often. I find the lush greenery of a compact veggie garden beautiful enough.
On the balcony I tend to grow pretty ground cover in a large terracotta pot. Strawberries are in another. The balcony faces east.
After watering the refreshed garden I came inside and did a few mundane domestics tasks that need to be completed before school tomorrow.
Again I found I had a tv sit com tune buzzing around in my head, a different one from yesterday. I finished off my time with a little reading while curled up on the bed.
As with yesterday the Time Out Hour was a positive experience. But even more so. I have found the latter part of the day is much more restful, while still being a productive time.
The real test is tomorrow and the next day. Given they are the days I go to class, & come home exhausted. Well, so far this has been the pattern, so we will see.
